That reelseat is AWESOME. Dremel and alot of patience I take it? :-) Very, very nice work overall. Love the frog and crossbones :-)

That reelseat could be used on an alien themed rod too!

Thanks. I have a reel and blank painted up to match, if I ever get a chance to finish it. The color changing paint looks really cool in the sun.
I did most of the reel seat with files and sandpaper.

BUMP - having seen this in person, and just how comfortable & how preciely "modded" teh reel seat is, it deserves a second look. I could not believe this was done by hand, I looked at teh seat pretty hard to find an inaccuracy, tried to see where one side would be slighly off from teh other, and maybe a spot where teh curvature on teh sides was a litttle off - it was perfect. VERY impressive, as were all your rods. IT goes to show you can build a highly functional rod with some decoration on it to make it look truly custom and not cookie cutter.
