Thanks Doc. Why three coats of CP? I can understand if it was thinned, but why not just do one good, unthinned coat?

On rare occasion I have had a bleed thru problem with one coat but mostly just because that is how I have done things the last several years.

Most of the instructions for CP (who would read such a thing)suggest two coats. After you put in 40 to 90 hours of work in a weave you sure don't want to loose it because of a blemish caused by poor CP coverage. For that reason I always use two coats and often three. Interesting results Doc.

interesting stuff. I just tried Diamondite and found that it darken my lighter colors..
I may have to try to emulate with lighter colors and 811/diamondite/color lock..

I did my tests with Yellow Madeira over Black Gudebrod "B" and I don't see much, if any difference in the color between the finished and unfinished thread. I need to test some more but I can put up with a little color change if there is no snow in the background.
