This is not my first attempt, but I felt like it was one of my better ones. Gudebrod Candy Apple (no CP)and testors metalic gold and black.

Very Nice! Not used to seeing marbling like that over thread without a colored base coat. Nice effect.

Tim, Very nice. I enlarged the picture and it looks like there is good depth to this. Did you apply a coat of clear epoxy and let dry before you applied another coat and than did your marble. Again very nice I love the colors.

Again, I really appreciate the comments. Alan, it is one thin coat over the thread, one coat to apply both pigments, and then one additional coat over the decal which is on the other side. Finish is Threadmaster. On a side note, I used to put the decal in front of the real seat and matched it to the trim bands (metalic silver or gold), but the last two rods I have built with gold trim bands, I used a metalic silver decal over the matching gold marble in the split grip which I think looks pretty sharp. I have yet to do a gold decal over silver marble. I for some reason I just don't think it would look as good.
