It looks way better in person, but these are my first ones and they really look cool. So many possibilities. I sure hope more folks start posting theirs

Good stuff, Jeff. Can you tell us all what colors you used on each one of these?

Good work Jeff. I have a few in progress but I can never get a picture I like. I did several tests with two open layers.

Hey Mr. Scott & Mick, I apologize for just gettin' back to you guys, but it was early to bed last night and up at 3am this morning to go fishin'. Just gettin back to my computer. The blue wrap was Madeira 1976 & GB NCP White for the underwraps and GB NCP 246 for the top. I used 1 coat of CP and 1 coat of high build over the underwraps, let them dry a couple days. I put the top thread on and used a heat gun to sink the thread into the finish. That in my opinion makes all the difference! Also the thicker the bottom coat of finish that the top thread sits on the better the effect. Scott, you are the man!!!!!!!
The red wraps as follows;
GB Nylon Black & GB NCP White on bottom, with GB NCP Candy Apple on top. The other red wrap was;
GB Nylon Black & Madeira 1995(yellow) on bottom, with GB NCP Candy Apple on Top.
The same processes as the blue wrap for CP & finish.
I have done approx. 40 different test wraps with some having 3 bottom threads with great results. You can get almost metallic effects with the bright Madeira
Poly threads. Scott, this is most fun I've ever had building rods. I've got 6 customer rods going now, all with your invention. I sure hope some other folks post their pictures. I don't have enough time to test out all my ideas.
Thank you so much!!!
Jeff

Haha! Good to hear Jeff! Man...I was WAY off on the color guesses!!LOL! Madeira thread didnt even occur to me....Im still stuck in my limitted crayola box/Gudebrod world....

Doc,
Try 2 open layers over silver aluminum foil(shiny side out)under a thick coat of finish.....will make you dizzy!
