IF you look at the grip as a square as opposed to a cylander, you'll be able to figure it out. Very nice, I love how the sides look when you make "Chevrons".

Thanks Guys, the grip started out as Billy said. It started out as the small brown square in the center of the cube that you see in the left hand side of the picture. You build veneer around it until it's large enough to insert into the handle on the diagonal. When you turn it down, it cuts off the two corners and exposes the veneer layers. I like the look of it and will have to adjust the starting square so I can use it in the lighter handles that I like to use. Thankfully it's a prototype and I have a home for the larger grip.
