They do have great pieces of work don't they. I never understood the prices that they got for cues until I started to research them. Many of the good cues will take up to a year to make. To keep consistent hardness of the cue the better makers will only take off .010" thickness every two weeks and dry between cutting. A lot of man hours go into a piece of art and if you were to figure it per hour spent on the project they are probably making close to minimum wage.

DAmmit Jack, now my secret site is out of the bag. And so is MArk's, lol. Someone on this site posted a pciture a while back of a wood insert or grip which had the "scales" patterns similar to teh Samsara cues. If people would spend the time researching, they'd find a ton of ideas in otehr crafts.

AH!!! I feel much better now. I strogny suspected MArk was the one who made the Scaled reel seat, and I was surprised to see Joe's work, as that wasnt' the one I was thinking of in my first post. Here is the reel seat which I was talking about: [ link ]

I'd guess $12,000. There's a guy who does insane Scrimshaw on pool cues, tehy routinely sell in the $25,000+ range. He's worst than me, he takes like 6 months to finish a cue, lol.

Yeah....his name is Salman Rashidi. He's the best there is. See some of his work on the latest pic I just posted of a Mottey cue.
