The web is made of maple and dyed black veneer trimmed in corian. The fore and aft grips are walnut, cherry and maple. I'm looking for opinions on weather or not to keep the orange trim. I'm undecided and need an objective opinion so please let me know if you think the orange should stay or go. Thanks Mark.

I like the orange and the entire grip. Just when I think I've advanced a little you come up with something new. Really good Mark.

Mark, was it as easy as I thought? Very nice work!! I don't see a problem with teh orange trim, from the pic it looks like it matches the middle color in the segmented bottom grip.

I really like the orange trim; keep it. Would I fish that rod? No! It would go on the wall of my din.

Mark, It's beautiful work and well crafted! I would probably prefer it without the orange but I'd certainly be happy with it as is.

Twenty seven thumbs up on the grip - four thumbs down on the orange - The overall appearance of class is kina broken visually with the orange. The ones around the seat attract the eye and places the visual center of attraction in that area. Notice how the angle of view is really important - in the picture taken from the real view angle the orange ones facing the cameral kind take over.

Thanks for the compliments and the opinions. I looked at it most of last night and the orange just didn't look right, it king of reminded me of Halloween with the orange. One thing about it, it's easy to change now but is problematic when mounted on the rod. Bill S and Billy V thanks for pointing me towards the pool cues. Now those guys do some unbelievable work. Billy V the center grip was easy to make it's just a large checker turned on it's side. I know, I know, still had to sneak a checker into the grip some how. I've got a couple of other things I want to try off of the links you sent, Thanks Again.

Mark, a beautiful job. I would just make the orange rings thinner by about 1/2.

Fantastic work Mark. IMO the orange can be a little overpowering and does draw the eye but I wouldn't knock the handle back if it was offered to me.
