Birch rings from Canadian fishing trip. Cut by hand, punched out with a 22 shell casing. Rubber/cork gasket rings frame the ends. 30 min epoxy on waxed all-thread. Fun! (will try the 15 min gel when Andy gets it out)

For me it is a 6.5x55, 7.62x51, .40acp, .45acp, and .50BMG.
Never needed a hole bigger than that Thank God.
Punch the OD diameter rings wit a sharpened pipe fitting and center the ID holes with various washers so they are pretty much perfect before gluing.
That rubberized gasket material is VERY interesting.
Expensive?

Derek, you can find rolls of the cork/rubber gasket material at most major auto parts stores. Get the thinner sheets. They make great trim rings and are rather inexpensive.

Randy, a 1/4 inch hand held paper punch works very well for thinner ring material too!

Steven.....I was looking into the paper punch but then found a leather punch at a Saddlery and Tack store....VERY INTERESTING!!!!!! Multiple hole sizes and will punch through just about any reasonable material.

The fine line between pragmatic, creative and frugal is always rearing its curious little head as we forge further into this addiction. Derek, I would really like to see one of the multiple hole punches. Thanks
