Here's a couple different style hosels that were popular in the late 1970's. About 75% of my customers were bass fisherman and they liked the glitz. I don't think its very important today.

Jack I would say style is as important today as it was in the late 70's. Many people want a rod with flair, but are so wrapped up in weight savings that they are missing out on style for 1 gram of weight. I love your work and hope that you will start building rods again I'm sure you still have a lot of ideas that have not been explored.

Jack,
Your work is absolutely stunning and I think that you were way ahead of your time. I certainly hope that you get back into rod building and treat us to more of your beautiful work.

Very nice! I'm curious, what's the white marble-ish look in the open part of the black diamonds? Also, is that rod finish on the bottom hosel or CA glue, to get such a deep shiny finish? Thanks for posting these, looking forward to more!

Hi David,
This wrap was done over the belly section of western diamondback which doesn't have as many marking as the top. I used an oil hand rubbed finish on the first and Flex-Coat on the shiny hosel. Thanks for asking.
