This is a rod that I'm working on for a friend. It's a St Croix Elite with burl cork (Jann's) and Padauk for the reel seat trimmed with Padauk, Wenge, and Maple.

Nice touch with the padauk rings to bring the color into the grips.

Mark, you are truly an artist. You can take the simplest things and make a masterpiece. But what is padauk?

Terry and Ellis Thanks for the kind words. Ellis the orange wood in the reel seat is Padauk. It's a type of exotic wood from Africa and Asia, I really like the orange tint with this wood.
