Thank you everyone for the nice comments. I will do an update on how it holds up. I mean it seems strong enough and I am playing with a type of clip that would set under the reel foot and help it from splitting out. I will post that if I can make it work. By the way guys this is really not that hard. Thanks again.

Mark no this is polyester material from mesacraft. great stuff. Billy it was not me looking for the fingernail router bit. Again thank you for all the nice moments. I have gotten a few questions asking how I got the slot there so I have posted another pic. Hopfully that will help.
