This is one of Joe Douglas`s fill a bag with reel seats for $10.00 specials at the show.Point of purchasing was to experiment with painting them.I ruined 5 before I hit on something. It is nicer in person than in the photo.Work goes on into this to perfect the process. The nut is where I am not satisfied but think if I adjust the spray gun a little it may improve.

The gloss is a lot better in person and the color flows more. When the process is close to perfected I will do it on a quality seat with a better surface to start with.

Looks pretty cool Fred. Red is the hardest colour to paint, the more you put on the more it darkens. You might try a white base coat next time it will help to lighten it up and make it easier to get an even colour tone.

Dave,it has a mediun silver base coat with a clear red on top.It took on more of a bronze color than a red.

If you look to the right of the photo in zoom mode the brightest part of the threads is an accurate look at the color and gloss. The barrel end the metallic refected the flash and distorted the picture.
