My first attempt at some custom handle work. Andy's exotic cork & home turned kingwood reel seat & matching butt cap. I put several coats of TRU oil on the handle. I still have to finish the wood.

Gary: The reel seat is a cusioned graphite pac bay skeleton seat. I then made the kingwood insert on my lathe.

Great looking handle. I can already feel a steelhead on the end of your line. Great looking reel also. What brand is it?

Ellis: The reel is a Mykiss, it is a redo of the Hanson reel that was build by Leon Hanson. The reel is from Michigan. Here's a link to a review of the reel. [ link ]
