I finished a 6 wt. Tiger Eye rod for a friend of mine and took it to a pond to test cast some deer hair bugs with it. My nephew borrowed the rod and a few minutes later he caught this bass.

Ellis,
I agree with Mike plus it seems to me that maybe that handsome young man ought to be giving his uncle some fishing lessons.

That he did, Emory. He said that I had been slapping water for an hour and hadn't caught anything and he borrows the rod and five minutes later he had a bass. Then to make matters worse, I had to treat him to a steak dinner and a fine cigar. He is my favorite nephew and fishing pardner. I supplied room and board while he went to college. He now is an accountant with UPS. He did ask me to build him a spinning rod though. He told me he was going to show me how to catch bass using one.

Ellis,
That explains the big grin. He just stuck it to his uncle.

Did you guys go down to that freeway pond? The one on HWY 59? I have to try it some day. Keep it stocked, Ellis.
