This is a Rainshadow SW967F made for kayak fishing. Extended to 8'3", rear grip is farily short for reeling in the seated position. Foregrip is extended to provide floatation. The rod will float with an ABU 6500 plus approximately a 2 oz lure. Acid wrapped with all Fuji titanium guides and TMNST tip.

Another fine example of what a custom builder can do that a facrory cannot!
Nice job too Erik! It floats? Awesome!

Thanks! Yes... it'll float. It would have even had more floatation but I also added about 2 oz of lead to the inside of the butt to balance the rod. I also like using the Palm Support reel seats for kayak rods... I drill one large hole in the "trigger" to secure a lanyard, and a second smaller hole to use as a hook keeper.

I might have to try the "yak" thing - it looks like alot of fun, and after seeing some of the posts recently on another forum, looks like it can be Very productive. Of course this would require a whole new series of rods to add to the rack!
Is the floating rod common?

Nice custom job and those blanks that you used are really nice. I built one for my son and one for my daughter-in-law for light offshore use and surf fishing.
