A pair of Shikari PP703.5 rods. The top rod is Juniper that Stan Grace was good enough to trade to me. The Juniper is light and smells great when turned. The lower rod is Copano Burl with Maple and Walnut checkers trimmed with Burl Maple and Curly Maple.

Very neat work and nice lines as usual. I'm happy to make a small contribution to a result like this.

Very good work! What did you use for the reel seat on the top rod?

Stan, I usually make my own reel seats but this was one I picked up premade. I don't know what the material is but I liked the looks of it and the price was right I think it was around $10.00 for the reel seat.

Very nice Mark - I like them both. Did you use the ca trick on the checkers?

Thanks Jerry, These were some I made before I talked to you at the show. I have made some since that I used the ca on. The ca works very well, I'm still working on one that's segmented and has a third broken ring that makes the inlay look like a chain and with the ca it's very close. The third ring is still off a little and I think that I need to work on my clamping by using a finer tie strap. All in all I like the ca, it's quick and less mess. Thanks again for the tip.
