This is a weave of a fly that I put on one of my friend's fly rods. Is is four layers, 184 Madeira size 40 threads, 67 turns of size B for background. Total weaving time was three hours.

Thanks all. Several years ago I left a rod drying overnight. When I checked in the morning I had a fly on the epoxy. I think Tom K. said that I now had a real fly rod.

You nailed it Ellis. The best one to date. My fire belly toad says it looks good enough to eat.

I wish I had clicked on teh picture sooner, I SWEAR I said to myself, "geez, Ellis is corny, JEsse already built a rod with flies in teh finish". I had NO CLUE this was done with thread, great job!!! I do have to ask about teh # of threads & the time it took...are those stats accurate? 3 hours seems really fast...I like really fast, lol.
