Thanks to Dave Orr for posting. I ground it first with a stone then finished it with paper to get a fine edge. Works GREAT. I found that it cuts cleaner if you use the same pilot hole in the backing board for each one

Excellent! It works as well on bark as it does on rubber floor mat and cloth headliners.I'm glad it worked out.
