This looks a lot nicer on the rod than in the pics. This will also be in High Point.

Rating: 10 for design, speed of wrapping. 8 for colors - I like them but I didn't realize my friend Victor wrapped this same exact pattern using about the same exact colors, so I get a 0 for originality. Photography gets a 5

Overall rating 8

What is split photo? THE wrap wraps around 3/4's of the blank. I don't knwo why, but recently I've taken a liking to making large patterns wrapping around the blank. I'm stuck using GUSA blanks which have small diameter, so I either continue to wrap simple patterns small, or I just wrap the larger patterns and let it wrap. If I were doing these rods for other people, I wouldn't do this, as it looks better doing a pattern which fits on the top of the blank with little or no wrap around effect. Since these are for me, I dont' care.

Again I am not in the rating game. Colors and pattern are great and the workmanship is the usual outstanding. Cant grade you against someone else because I need em sid by side. If it is someone who hanng with you then it too is bound to be tops.

WE should have a wrapping contest at one of these shows. They do it at the Fly Tying & Fishign shows, why not Rodbuilding? It could be a lot of fun, but there would be a lot of bruised ego's..which makes it even more fun since I'd try to make sure my ego wasn't one of the casulties, lol.
