I recently had to redo a rod (popped some guides due to ice up). This time I decided to not use CP (first time without) and I also decided to use a locking wrap. The main part is candyapple and the trims are metallic red and Old Gold. This picture shows the "good" side of the ferrule wrap and a guide wrap. This is the "good", check out the "bad", but there is no ugly since it's in the eye of the beholder.

Looks pretty good Steven. Nice eye "candy"!! LOL
You can get cleaner epoxy lines by using a coffee filter with isopropyl after you apply the finish.

Great hint Raymond! I've tried similar with paper towels but they're not nearly as finely defined or crisply edged as coffee filters. I'll be trying that on my next project.
