I built this beast back in '03 right when American Tackle released the hallo guides. I also took this rod up to the first builders show and people loved it.

Hi Anthony, after looking at all your work I cant say a whole lot other that your work looks nice, tight and clean. I tried blowing up the pictures and couldnt tell much about the thread work but all of it seems very good. What type of finish do you use? It appears in the photos to be flat like maybe permagloss or maybe just the lighting.

Thanks guys, the finish is called envirotex. It wood finishing epoxy that I get at Ace hardware. It's 1/2 the cost of flexcoat, has about 15-20 more time to work with then flexcoat, the bubbles are easier to get out, and also it doesn't yellow that bad. I fish in Florida so yellowing is a problem here and rods that have Envirotex that were built 10 years ago are still considerably clear.
