That doesnt look like a very high build of permagloss....how many coats were used?
I assume single foot guides would "pull out" sooner?

Steven Tom did this one and I do not know how many coats. There is a lot going on with the single foot guides pulling out due to shock loads. I am not sure but I think the flexibility of typical two part epoxies coupled with the stretch in thread contribute to somehow loosening of the bond which allows the guide frame to easily slip from under the thread without a failure of either the thread or the finish. I have an idea, can not prove it, but I THINK the properties of Perma Gloss do not allow this to happen. Mick Comesky's testing of single foot guides showed failure of the Perma Gloss at locations other that the guide frame. The ones I am doing appear to be thicker than the ones shown in the photo.

Single foot guides can't "pull out" from this type attachment the way they can from under a guide wrap. But yes, due to less overall surface to bond to, they would not be as tough to get loose as double foot guides would be.
