Here is a closer look at the lathe. I'm realy glad I'm hooked on building rods because I made the bench and lathe before I built my first rod.....I just like to build things out of wood.

By the looks & design of the lathe & desk your obviously good with your hands and know a bit about design as well. Can't wait to see pics of the rods you build using that bench!! I just hope your eye with color is as good! LOL!

I'm only on my 4th rod but I'm getting a little better with each one. Still a long ways to go. Thanks to this site, and a trip to the show last year, I have learned allot and been able to avoid many first timer mistakes.

I like the adjustment for the top wheels. Look's like you may have to go into the lathe business.

Thank you for the positive comments. The wheels are simply nylon bearinged sliding glass door pullies with o-rings. The red extruded aluminum is the T track used in woodworking miter slides.

Great job. I have not been able to find wheels like those at Home Depot or Lowes or O rings that size. Where did you buy yours?
