Glass 7' rod, no markings at all. Vintage is early 70's at the earliest. Any ideas?

Mick, I don't know what it is , but I bought the exact same rod about 3 years ago (flea market) to make repair parts, ferrules, etc. The one I got wasn't in as good shape as the one you have

I think it's a True Temper. Not 100% sure, but close. They made glass rods on into the mid-1970's. It sure it wrapped like other True Tempers I've seen and the same brown color as many of their rods.

Rebuilding a VERY similar rod myself. My father's old salmon rod. Late 60's, early 70's vintage. Think it was a true temper but that ferrule on yours has me stumped....Much different than mine.

Wish I'd known that earlier Stan, I'd have bought it off you. It's really a great feeling rod and I wouldn't mind finding one for myself. Thanks Tom, that helps narrow it down. Derek, the ferrule struck me as odd too. Solid glass male plug with about a 1" oversleeve that looks like it was added as an afterthought. The fit and finish (at least what remains) is very good all around except here. The sleeve end is nothing approaching square and the color looks a tad "off", though it could be from being protected by full thread wrap at one time.

The ferrule is factory standard. Some of the first spigot ferrules had a type of sleeve or cap that fit over the male end when joined. Silaflex used this same ferrule style for a few years.
