Anthony, can you leave them as is or should you put a cap over the
top of the weight? I assume that you stack up the weights inside the
part which goes into the handle. They look good but I am not sure I
like the exposed lead look.

Dave, they are screwed on. The female part is embedded into the blank. The male part consist of the back plate in silver or gold and it can be engraved. You can add single piece weight or multiple pieces depending on how much weight is required to blance the rod, after the black rubberised or clear raisin back plate holder. I'll try and upload a picture of the balancer.
