Cut down reel seat and silk wraps with Threadmaster. About as plain as they come. Makes for an excellent palming setup.

Thanks Mark. The thread and finish does the work though. Not my cup of tea by any means (I like color and flash) but as far as spartan goes, it is a cool looking rod overall. And really does feel great as a palmer. Might have to do a flashier one for myself someday.

Mick Mick Mick - you never cease to amaze me! How much time did you spend shaping, filing, polishing, fooling with, pointing, dulling edge, peening, degurring, stress relieving, lapping and who know what else to those durn guide feet. Reel seat don't do it for me but your guide feet sure don't have any form of disease or odor!! Now for the real important question - what is your contract fee to do a eight guide set of Alconites - DBL 12, 8 and 7 and 5 sixes - lump sum 24 sets at a time? I will ship guides and postage paid return package. Please advise time estimate for work as required. I now use em straight from the Far East with a 6 second Dremel grind to knock down the hump on top.

Bill, I spend way too much time on feet. If I spent as much time with thread as I do guides, I might have a few decent wraps going! hahahah. Not a big fan of the seat either, though it does have it's place.. just not one for me! 8 sets at a whack? That's gonna cost ya, chief! But my daddy always told me not to take a cajun's money... or was it his wine?? Probably both... I'll give it a think and get back to you.
