Been working on these for a while now. The BBoy grip will have a lot of other adornments which I've yet to complete. Obviously poor photography, will get better shots when the rods are completed. Still working on a Renassaince Rod, I have 25 hours in grip inlays alone, and plan to add quite a bit more.
All rods will be on Display in High Point in 2007 at the NERBs booth. Most will have fish scales & fish slime on them.
PS - those who have met and know me might recognize the backwards hat, baggy clothers and beard. I tried to match the color of my skin as best I can in foam...I was close for middle of the Winter, not for summer, lol.

Blackfish season opens October 1st. Teh first day they catch them I'll be out there the next, lol. I have 21 vacation days left for teh Fall Tog Season, so I'm kind of looking foward to it - I'm busy right now with Baseball, both with my son playing and me coaching at a D3 college (Pitching Coach 40)

Billy,
Pretty cool. Next thing ya know you'll have Dr. Phil or something on a grip. Never ceases to amaze me. Make sure and get some good use out of that orange hat at baseball practice. LOL.

That orange hat fits just like the one in the inlay, I wore it on purpose today just because I finished the inlay this AM, lol. The heck with Dr. Phil...I'd put Jerry Springer in there way before him. It's possible to do with wood, not really with foam. I am able to get a lot more detail into the foam now, it's too bad I'm unable to shade the foam gradually. I learn so much each time I do these grips, they just take a long time. It's funy what used to take me 8 hours would take me like 4 hours, the stuff that takes me 8 hours now I would have never thought possible a few years ago. Wait until you see the Knight inlay I did, it's sick.

Mike, I didn't retire, I'm trying to break new ground combining techniques from other crafts with Rodbuilding. I know most of what I'm doing has already been done - Clemens has sold square stock EVA for 20 years (+?). But you never see any pictures of hear about anyone doing anything with them outside of basic Chevrons & such. I'm looking to push the envelope, continue & expand on the grips done by Bernie Cohen, Ray Jorgensen, Harv Gordon, Micheal Crichton, Eden Broomfield & others.
