lousy photo but I used Titanium framed SIC's, bumperwrapped using high tech Cora40 bumpers and regular white nylon for the guide wraps so with finish applied, the wraps will disappear into the white CTS blank. Built for a specific location and bait. Looking down on the rod, it looks guideless...and Unique.

Mike, I assume only using 1 of those didn't work out, huh? Where can I get those Cora40 bumpers from?

One actually works just fine keeping the line off the blank, I wanted to have both on there for testing reasons. The second one will act as a "spare" and be temporarily affixed just behind the first guide in case of breakage due to misuse and abuse of the primary one. (Billy made me the bumper rings from white Corian...Cora40's,very cool)

Mike,
That's awesome, guess that corian will last forever (almost). Can I ask which CTS blank that is? I'm bulding a white CTS FW bass rod right now but am thinking about trying one of their SW blanks as well. The pic is a bit fuzzy so I wasn't sure if it was a FW or SW blank. Randy.

Randy, Its one of the Elite Tournament series. 7'6" rated for 1-3oz and 20-30# line. Built to cast live 10-12" eels into a saltmarsh inlet from shore with the hopes of large striped bass in the dark of night. Took a bunch of pics, but they all ended up glowing and fuzzy...the blank has an aura, good mojo!

That's actualy a good idea, an insurance policy, lol. Gota give credit where credit is due - Earl Baughham sent me teh Corian sample & I stole the idea from a rod he posted a few weeks ago, and Scott Throop's big bumper for Acid Rollers. I just made this much thinner than both hoping it would work. Mike is teh Crash Test Dummy.

Mike,
Thanks for the info, I think I'll wrap a SW CTS blank for a change. I really like their FW blanks, especially white.
Billy,
Get my Email by chance?

The thin ring worries me a bit, so having a built in "insurance" policy solves that issue. (30# braid was stripped through with drag applied...tag end attatched to a Jeep going 10mph...no groving in the Corian...fun test) I've always liked Scotts "bumper", it makes sense, looks wierd though. Thanks Earl and Billy for the white "bumper".

Mike, when I remember I'll pu tthe Corian on a Mandrel, run it at 3600RPM on the lathe, and try to cut it with a piece of braid. SHould be interesting, lol. RAndy, I'm not at work, so I won't see it until tomorrow.
