Seems to be a common question and since I was doing it myself, took a few pics to hopefully give somebody some assistance.
Also note last pics of color difference between the outside and inside of a wrap showing penetration with LS Supreme, no CP. Wraps are poly (blue) metallic (copper) and silk (green).

Very good tutorial. You should add the fact you should heat the guide up a little before attempting to remove the finish. I really never did heat my guides but I have for the last couple that I have done and it does amke removing the epoxy a lot easier.

How are you able to strip the center? Every time I try to replace a guide, I end up scraping finish off the blank.

Thanks guys. Billy, by making some careful cuts and using a probe to get under it. Usually comes off in small pieces and I also normally wind up with a few finish scrapes here and there unless I'm extremely careful (which takes a lot of time). Wet sanding with permagloss (next step, not shown) does a pretty fair job of recoloring small scrapes.
