Glued up some contrasting wood pieces and couldn't wait until they dried! 24 hours later I turned the stock round and here's what I'll begin shaping into a grip. Plans call for Batson inletted skeleton, the lighter wood as the reelseat insert, and a fighting butt that essentially will be the wood above cut in half and shaped..

Black walnut and ???, I knew someone would ask and I would end up not knowing (as usual). I haven't taken the time to label the blanks in my wood bin, so I just pick and choose by what I think would look good together.
If I can find the invoice for the wood, I'll post it up.
