WOW!! Very Nice! Was the Pactra sprayed or brushed on?? Really like to know more about your process. I'm surprised that the paint/Permagloss on the threads didn't interfere with the lock nut.

Thanks, Mike and Rich. I've done probably 10 of these over the last year. I lightly sand the threads and especially the sides of the seat behind the threads with 220 wetordry paper. Dust coat of Duplicolor silver metallic(DSFM226). I try the nut back on and if I see any side rubs, I sand and prime again. The Pactra spray is fairly transluscent and w/o a dust undercoat, it takes too much paint to cover over black. As you both know, let the lacquer dry for a day or 2 before wiping on the permagloss w/ a small piece of foam(I cut up the Formby pads). I do 2 thin coats of PG, drying between. I get maybe 2 seats/blanks out of a can of Pactra. Oh, and don't forget the lock nut when installing the reel seat...don't ask me how I know. Jerry

That's a heck of a neat looking rig. I wouldn't have thought those colors would work together. Thanks for the tips too!
