The fore and aft grip were made with scrap pieces of wood that I had around the shop. The checkers were made with out a jig only a mitre box of Padauk, Walnut, and Wenge. The grips are of Wenge and trimed with Padauk and Maple. The finish was an epoxy made for wood to fill the voids in the porus wood and final finish was Tru-oil.

That is a great looking grip. The trim work really makes it.
