There you go , Mike. I've done it, and attributed it to a brain cramp. Back to the lathe, Raymond!

YEP!! whats worse is I didn't even see the error til this morning and the rodbond is set like stone!! Would cut the fore grip off and re-do it but I dont have a green flocking kit yet, I only have a blue kit. guess the build will have to be on hold til I get a green kit. Note: Don't build late at night after working all day and 3 beers!! LOL!

And it will be a long long time before I do it again!! I may just leave it as it is (this rod is for me) and use a zip tie or something to hold the reel down.
It will be a good reminder of what NOT to do!! LOL!

Earl - you can't be the same Earl Baughman from Rio Vista, CA? If so, I sure would be happy to get in touch with you, I was the kid from the Outrigger Marina who used to hang out on your houseboat every day and talk about fishing. If not, well, it was worth a try. E-mail richmonp@mustin.navy.mil

Ray - if the green flock doesn't come in time, just go foregripless.

Good job you Flocker you! Don't fret - use the Jesse Buky instant repair method. You will have to accept a standard reel seat and not a blank exposed but it will save your flocked stuff. Cut seat blank and everything dead on center. Take a dremel and split the seat off. Insert a fiber glass pin and oversleeve and use a standard reel seat to fit back together. Use some of the gold or green cork spacer rings to protect flock sections during gjue up with Rod Bond. Are the guides in place already? Only us that work under the influence of OCD medication fully understand your plight. No Fuss No Muss!
Just checked and I do have a 3 inch foregrip already flocked. If you want it send me your mailing address via email.

Thanks Bill I'll send you an email in a minute.
Actually, you should reconize the grips as I got them from Lance!
Nice grips too! I hated to cut tha fore grip off but I did that a
little while ago. No guides yet so replacement will be easy.

I did those grips you got so the one I have will exactly match. I am now building with mostly no foregrip so I have an extra. Put a little green marble up front and I looks "cool".
