Inlayed Aussie Opal with imitation "opal" centers. Would have used black grips but the owner wanted varigated.

Thanks Myles and Jim. I used random passes of holographic prism tape to get the "opal" look then surrounded it with Reg A black and metalic gold. It really sparkles in the sunlight.

Very cool. The opal must be really thin. Are you in the area of the Opal Mines?

Thanks Gerry. The opal does stand "up" a bit from the wrap but has been coated with 3 thick layers of epoxy. It stands out beautifully. I live about 2 hours away from a little place called White Cliffs where they dig some of the nicest opal in the world. I have good access to thin cuts called triplets shown in this rod.
