Thread work on the DAV spinning rod. Brown thread in split grip and hook keeper will be marblized. (This is the rod that tried to drive me insane).

Thanks guys. All troubles aside, it was a cool project.


Emory, do you have the specs for that blank? Besides having a great feel to it, it is stunning. When I took it into the sun, my wife started drooling over it. The feel of it was just begging to be made into a catfish rod for her.

Also, I wanted to mention to anyone not following the DAV projects, that I did not do any of the grip or reel seat work. The credit for that goes to John Bunner.

That came out really nice. Despite all teh hassles you went through, you ended up with a unique themed rod, with a funny ass story. CAn't beat that.

Thanks Billy. The whole rod design was a combined effort with Jeff Harding, John Bunner and Mike Barkley. That's what really made it fun, working with these guys and bouncing ideas off of each other. It was a real pleasure. I'm looking forward to final pics when Jeff does the marbleing.


The effort and the story was a bonus. lol

That blank is a Lamiglas Certified Pro blank, an XC78M.
