I understand the double stripper, but would that hamper casting with a spinning reel on a switch rod?

I put the tamer guide on to stop the fly line from slapping the rod. There have been numerous discussions about the merit of doing this and I bought in to the concept. I decided to built this rod as a half way measure between a standard fly rod and a conventional spey rod. The foregrip is 10" (vs 7" for a conventional fly grip, and something much longer for a spey) and the rear grip is 4" long (vs the typical knobby fighting butt one might choose for a fly rod). The Full Wells was done so that I'd have a more secure grip is I spey cast. The 10' rod is shorter than most spey rods but fast tip action of the Dan Craft FT seems to be suitable for two hand casting (at least that's what I heard from the people who emailed me). Having said all this, I have yet to cast the rod so I not sure if the design decisions were sound. I figured I should post the pictures before it gets scuffed up. I'll keep you posted.

Steven,
your switch rod really looks great. I've build the 5wt 10'' last year for another guy. Only fished/casted it for an our or so but was very impressed how good such a short double hander is suited for spey and underhand casting. I'm sure you'll have fun with the rod.
