Nice Job! Always been a big fan of wood myself! The gold hardware really sets it off!

Thanks Ray, This rod would be good for salt water but I built it for grindle. If you're wondering, a grindle is a predator fish with large teeth and the jaw of a bull dog. They're very aggressive and can bust up some tackle. I've heard them called mud fish, bowfin, cypress trout, dog fish and the Cajun name of choupique. They are a fresh water fish of the back water and sloughs. Slam a bass bait or a streamer hard and they'll go in excess of 10 lbs.
