This is my latest rod shop project. It’s an old multipurpose miniature woodworking tool I was given and am in the process of converting to a grip lathe. I took it apart, cleaned it up, fixed the motors fan that was in three pieces, rigged the speed selection switch that was broken so it works again. From a ¾ inch fine threaded bolt I milled an adapter with my metal lathe (the silver one) for the Penn State CMG3C Chuck System I bought for it. I turned the tail stock around to give it a 16 inch bed and will soon mill a new live (from a skateboard bearing) and dead tail stock center for it. It’s an old machine that was manufactured by McGraw Edison years ago and was called the Power House sand, saw, turn and finish. It should do just fine for any grip materials I’ll be working with.
