1 light coat of stain. L to R, Golden Oak, Red Oak, Red Mahogany, Jacobean, bare cork. Top is unfinished, bottom has several coats of Tru-oil type finish.

Mick You can get some nice effects with tap tints thinned with thinners and wiped on to wood , cork. On wood a heavy coat, then sanded lightly it stays in the grain.

Mick my best results in this is to tint the finish not the cork, the stuff I dyed the cork faded big time and it wasn't even out in the sun.
