Just messing around with a very inexpensive digital camera for some tests.

Curious...how do you like that laser alignment tool? Do you have to move the rollers around/much to get them out of the way of the laser/light? Love the idea of two thread carriages...yours on the right doesnt look like stnadard renzetti though...customized for large spools? Like the setup.

I made some of the lathe accessories I have. The laser is fine, you don't have to move the rod supports at all. The beam is eliptical and shines over the supports, although there is a slight dark area directly behind each top roller wheel. Still, you get a straight line down the rod so those few small dark areas aren't really a problem.

The camera is a very low priced entry level Canon that I was checking for various things. The internet being a very low quality, low resolution medium, it's really hard to see what I was wanting to see. Oh well. I'll do some other tests with it.
