This is looking from the entrance to the shop from the finished area of the basement. Just for Myles - the kangaroo sign! Drill press / band saw and vertical (band) sander on the roll-around with volatile stuff below. The roll around that's out of sight has all the hypalon/wood turning squares below. Each roll-around has a tractable power cord so they can be rolled into the center of the shop for 360 degree access which allows back-to-back mounting for the power tools.

This shop would be more functional if you took the acetone can from the enclosed space below, opened it up and placed it nearer to the TV! Otherwise very good overhaul! One more thing - in two weeks take another picure without picking anything up!

Bill, Since the TV is hardly ever on - nothing good or bad would happen. Yes, I did move some "junk" out of the frame for the photo but the shop has been "up and running" for a year. I wish I had taken a pic or three of what it was like before I did the re-hab. The lighting down the center is all new, the task lights on the benches are new as are the flouros over each work bench. The wood lathe was on the back cabinet either "buried" or in the way blocked by the metal lathe. The drill press was sitting on the floor. The band saw was sitting on an old bedroom dresser and the vertical sander was out in the garage (not plugged in). I had one Dremel tool that was inconveniently placed - no matter where I was it was on the other end of the shop or there was no outlet to plug it in to. Now there are three Dremels one at each end of the shop 'kitty corner' and one that is reserved for polishing antique guides hanging off one of the roll-arounds. What is also not visible is the vertical rod rack I improvised by putting in an open metal closet organizer shelf to keep the rods upright and separated - and the additional overhead 8" PVC tubes for longer rod blanks (seven feet and up)... and an open shelf organizer for odds and ends like a router, variable speed drill and their accessories. This time I thought about "motion", storage and accessability with room for two people to work simultaneously and a couple of other "kibitzers" hanging around. What I wish I had room for: small table saw and jointer/planer. The current dimensions are 12'x18'x 8.5'high.
