Hi Mike...
Thank you for the compliment !! The skin is carefully measured, also takes practice cutting out the pattern, at $35.00...$45.00 a skin, you can't afford too many mistakes...the skin is glued to the handle and foregrip.
This is the second rod I completed and working on a third one, Pres. Bush was the first recipent of this rod, called The Presidential Rod by Joe and Mary Graves, the couple who taught me rodbuilding..
The first rod I made was raffled off for the Ronald MacDonald House and bought in $800.00 in ticket sales.....
The rod is pricey...starts at $300.00 and up.....

MaryLou, Excellent work, working with leather, specially snake skin in this manner is not easy. Looks perfect for those tropical sweaty hands a gal gets when fishing for a 60lb Barra.
Real busy at the moment, I will drop you a line when the little fella is born.
Again beautiful work MaryLou, talk soon.
