Really nice. Great use of color, the guide wrap & the butt wrap have the same sequence - not only in the overall wrap, but even teh way you choose teh colors to make the pattern. Good job!

The one thing that I am pretty sure about, which I cannot tell for sure is that you did an underwrap. You did put a Brown/MAroon/redish band in teh underwrap, and did the overwrap with green Nylon no CP. that's how you got that faint line right at the end of teh guide foot, right?

Billy, actually that faint line is a single thread of brown on both sides it's just take my picture taking ability isn't the greatest. No uderwrap and 2 coats of CP.

The whole package looks wonderful to me.... Finish is fantastic too. Is the faint line that Billy is talking about a tension change on the thread?

Thank you all for the great comments. Doc, believe it or not there is a single brown thread inlay on each side of the guide wrap about halfway to the begining of the guide foot. I took the pictures inside with a flash and it doesn't show up very well at all.

The amazing thing is that Al just started and has been teaching himself with dowels. He has only built a few rods. His talent/knack for this is amazing!!!!!!!

You guys are all way too kind. I'm just doin' stuff from a book. If I could be half as creative as Mike or Billy or Doc or Tom K or a bunch of others I've seen on this site I'll be real pleased.
