I have only been building rods for a few years and this is my first closed wrap. I'm kinda proud of myself. Be honest and tell me what you think.

It's very nice and a bit of a new take on the standard way most fish wraps are done.

Not so proud anymore. Put two coats of color lock on last night as directed. Today put first coat of perma gloss and the black bled through the gold. The gold on the guide wraps look great. No bleed through from the blank. Only the butt wrap and only from the black thread. Any suggestions? I know I'm going to have to strip it and start over but want it to look great. It's for my Dad.

Really well wrapped. I can only suggest you use a NCP thread for your fish. I don't know what you used this time but if there was any beeding it appears your CP coverage wasn't good enough. Really soak that first coat, then wick off.
