Have no idea what a stonefly is so it's hard to comment other than to say the weave looks fairly tight, next time try using your macro setting and shoot one weave at a time. I'm a big fan of A thread in weaves, looks sharper with smoother edges to me plus you can fit a larger pattern in the same area.

Unfortunately, that is my macro setting. I have to convince my wife that I need a new digital camera for some other reason.
