Now that is an awesome idea, I have been having a terrible time with micros, getting ready to wrap a another set and definetly going to give it a try!

I use one trimmed the other way. Works great.

Looks good, but personally, I use nothing anymore to hold my micros when wrapping. I use skirt rings to hold them in place for testing and getting the locations figured out. The mark down all the locations and take the guides off. I prep just the very tip of the guide foot. I start the wrap and then slip the guide foot under the next thread just enough to catch the guide and hold it in place. After a few more wraps, I wiggle the guide slightly and it brings the tip fo the foot under the thread and then finish it off. This way I don't have to worry about using anything to hold the guides while wrapping.

I use surgical tubing to hold the micro, I prep the foot with a file and wrap just like any other guide and they never move or give me any hassle at all.

What I have done is first prep the guide, then use sergical tubing to hold the guide in place, then align the guides. then I take a very little very thin cp and touch the edge of the foot away from the tubing and it wicks uder the foot. When it dries it helps stick the guide there so it won't shifting when I start wrapping. rarely do I later have to realign any guides. However if there is one that for whatever the reason is out of alignment, they are not stuck so hard that they can't be moved.

Mike, I use the same method after learning it from the lady at St. Croix who oversees all of the wrapping in the factory.
