I wanted to build myself a two piece travel rod to keep in the car for when I come upon that unexpected pond or river! I painted the blank silver and added a coat of Lumiseal to protect it. I turned and black flocked a wooden grip. The reel seat is a modified Batson pipe style. I turned a pen blank to complete the reel seat as well as the trim piece above the grip. I also tried my first wrap, that being a snowflake. That was fun, I've since tried a few more wraps.
