Curious though, what is the density of that foam? I would think it is not as dense as the other foams used.

It's not dense as mold foam normally used, but I testing on a few of my steelhead drifting rod, and they are working fine after carbon sleeve. I don't have any problem with it yet, but I like the light weight of it.

My concern with using lighter density foams isn't the strength of the carbon or glass on the outside. My concern is the blank wallowing out the foam when under a load. I'm using a little bit of 4lb density foam on some rods to test. Another concern, which may be nothing, is the effect of any solvents present in the epoxy melting the foam. Again these concerns may be unfounded. Let us know how they hold up.

There are no solvents in epoxy, unless you put them there. Our finishes and adhesives are 100% solids epoxy.
