About the same weight as most American hardwoods. It's not entirely practical, but just something I had been wanting to try.

How do you hide the glue/lines?

If the fit is precise (it must be) and you use a liquid epoxy, there won't be any glue visible. I've already tried this on some scrap pieces just to make sure it can be done well.

That one was hollow, this one is solid.
Robert,
I have no idea how it will look after a few years, but it can be buffed to this appearance in just a minute or so thus it should always look like this.
