Its a very small pic, but it looks like the black trim squeezed out of the red wrap? If I had to guess, I would say that there wasn't enough tension pulled on the black when you did the inlays. You might be able to burnish those down, but probably not, so may have to cut it off and try again, being sure to pull the black tight before you trim off the tag end.
